Built-in Primary Conductor
The Hall-Effect current sensor measures the magnetic flux produced in proportion to the primary current without any direct contact with the primary circuit; the combination of the Hall element and magnetic circuit provide excellent solution for measuring AC/DC current wiht galvanic isolation and zero insertion loss. The diagram in Figure (1) depicts the Hall current sensor basic principle. The magnetic flux produced in proportion to the primary current, If, induced in the magnetic circuit, passes through the Hall element inserted in the gap of the magnetic circuit resulting in a potential difference, Vh, expressed by the following formula:
